Nail Cream with Horsetail

 Ingredients:

  • 25 g dried horsetail (equisetum) herb
  • 150 ml pecan oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated beeswax
  • 3-5 drops of frankincense essential oil.
Instructions:
  1.  Place the horsetail and your carrier oil in the top of a double boiler, with simmering water in the bottom.  Let it simmer gently on very low heat for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  2. Remove from heat and allow the oil to cool until it is safe to handle. Strain the mixture through a muslin cloth or fine strainer into a glass jug, squeezing out as much oil from the plant matter as possible.
  3. Clean your double boiler setup, and gently melt your strained horsetail oil together with the beeswax.
  4. Remove from the heat, stir in your essential oil and pour the liquid mixture into a small, clean tin or jar. Let it sit undisturbed until it cools and sets into a solid cream.
Massage a small amount of the balm into your cuticles and fingertips every evening before bed to help hydrate the skin and strengthen the nail plate over time.
